This "Jesmond" Special cigarette brand introduced by John Sinclair of Bath Lane. Newcastle-on-Tyne. Founded in 1856. Claimed to be pioneers of cigarettes in the North of England although his brother Robert Sinclair may well question that. They were taken over by Carreras Ltd in 1930. Popular brands "Rubicon" "Barneys" "Fleetwing" etc etc.

The "Jesmond" oval tin was designed by Barclay & Fry in 1897 and  recorded in the Cigarette & Tobacco News of 1897. Has anyone come across this brand????.
