This White Star Line cigarette tin is in super condition. The RMS Olympic was the lead ship of a trio of Olympic Class Liners with a crewe of 950. It had a very long career of 24 years from 1911 to 1935. Used as a troop ship in the First World War and gained the nickname of "Old Reliable" and served sucessfully as an Ocean Liner. Due to the depression and increased competition made her operation increasingly unprofitable. Olympic was retired after 24 yrs at Southampton and dismantled at Jarrow.

Do any forum members have  any White Star tins to show as we could make a thread of this particular

not tobacco but still White Star The three funnel liner in the middle I believe is the "Majestic" .A quadruple screw and the largest steamer in the world  when  launched in 1889.. Retired when the Titanic was launched and put back in service when the Titanic sank .Sold for scrap during  WW1

 Glad you like them fleece77,

Kennett,

Your thee tins are very nice and in good condition. Are they for sweets/chocs samples??

Have posted a "White Star" line matchbox holder and I think the picture is RMS Olympic!!

There must be quite a bit of  "White Star" line stuff out there. Would be nice to see one from the "Titanic".

Great stuff guys. That's a beautiful cigarette tin Baccco.

I don't have any White Star, but I'd love any of those little cadbury's.

Kennet, I usually type everything first, then press Return before uploading images.

Hey Ken,
best way to avoid the text split, is to make sure you are at the very end of your typed text, you will see it flashing, hit enter at that point, which will drop you down to the next line, then add your pics

 Hi Langcat,

Love your "White Star" enamel. Must be quite rare that.

Kennett, That firm W.Ariel Gray who manufactured the cigarettes for many of the shipping lines. The factory was based in Everton Rd, Liverpool 5 and I have recently found a couple of pictures dated around 1940s to 1950s. They were quite a big company with the delivery vans outside the factory and photo of the staff outside the factory. They went into liquidation in 1970.

Those old cars look great. I especially like the front one. About time they came back in fashion.
