I know nothing about digging for bottles but looking at these pictures, I have to ask, has anyone got seriously injured doing this?  These holes look scarily deep to me!

I think i will stick to collecting old signs and tins

Hi Richard,

There are plenty of stories of people suffereing broken limbs and a handful have even died digging deep holes, (one recently in America,) but what really horrifies me is when adults let little children go down these deep excavations! They wouldn't stand a chance in a collapse!

Its just incredibly dangerous. Especially tips that have alreday been hammered as you don't know where the last pit starts/stops and the ash tends to be a lot looser!
