Picked this up on Sat. I dont know how old it is, hoping our man Bacco can enlighten - maybe 30s?. I dont think its ever been out. The tin has a stand up tab at the back and hooks for the price bit. Also the packets all are marked "dummy" see second shot. Its for the off always looking for nice confectionery stuff or toffee tins. Jezmond.

Hi Jezmond,

"Manikin" cigars manufactured by J.R Freeman. Pulton Place. Waltham Green, London SW6. A very old family company established in 1839 and one of the first to produce cigars in the UK. The families origins are from the Dutch cigar industry. In 1920 they bought out J.Frankau & Co which owned the H.Upmann factory in Havana. However, they themselves were taken over by Gallaher's in 1947, who continued to produce the "Manikin" cigars and I think you can still buy them today. I think your right with dates 1930s/40s.
