Hi Kennett,

That is a nice tin.

We did feature this "Sandy Hook" tin sometime ago but I am unable to find it. In short, the brand was introduced in 1896 by John Sinclairs of Newcastle. It is thought that the picture shows an immigrant ship docking in New York Harbour and it is thought that the outcrop of land with Lighthouse is known as "Sandy Hook"!!!!!!

Stunning tin. I wonder what buying them in a tin like that added to the cost of 20 cigs back then? It would be a significant percentage now I guess.
