Hi Al-thanks for the support-I love your question how does it affect your work etc.Lucky for me I own a successful landscape company ,my son and now leading hand does more of the work as i cant see natural levels anymore.
Apart from being and obsessed sign collector i am also and obsessed competitive sports fanatic.Up until five months ago i was playing comp pool-try and see a snooker ball with one eye.I was also comp spearfishing trying to judge the distance of fish HMMM. My wife and i have been dancing for 15 years and now at high speed dancing i lose her on my left hand side sometimes (shes getting used to it now) I also played high A grade table tennis try seeing a 42mm ball coming back at you at 220kph now?? back in C grade now.

But my biggest dissapointment is still with signs as i cant see the detail or the depth in pictorial signs and that messes with my head apart from all that i am improving mentally everyday - i didnt think this sort of thing happens to fit 49 year olds like me but i guess it could have been heaps worse and so im happy to stilll enjoy reading all the posts..PS thanks again for all the emails much appreciated---David

Hi David,  I'm really sorry to hear your terrible news.  Jon also lost his sight in one eye after an accident so I know how surprisingly difficult it is to cope with only one eye.  Everyday tasks you take for granted are affected.

After Jon died I did part with a few of his signs but I have kept a handful of his favourite ones and have them on display in my new house.  Perhaps you can keep your favourites, small pieces that are easy to display.

My very best wishes to you David,

Carolyn.
