This Player's "Weight's" brand introduced in 1889 as Player's NO1 but soon after  changed to Player's "Weight's" as originally you could only buy them by weight. A very popular brand and introduced to compete with the Will's "Woodbine" and other brands in the 5 for 1d war. The actress pictured is Miss Beatrice Von Brunswick. (Has anyone any info on this actress?) Date 1913.

Does Beatrice have to be an actress?
The name Beatrice von Brunswick sounds pretty German and rather royal or at least princely to me.
But she might of cource just have liked the sound of the name.

Glad you like the showcard as it is in very good condition for it's age. Kjeld, I can't imagine German Royalty supporting this brand and more likely to be an adopted stage name!!!!

I maybe wrong.
