Did anyone else see this.
What a beauty, must be very rare, surely?
6 o'clock on a Thursday can't be the best time to sell.
I so should have bid on this but I was in a business meeting and assumed it would go for a lot more.
Thanks Kreemy, makes me feel a little better. Come on Bacco fill us in.
A very nice tin: The "Golden Returns" brand is not one I have come across before and I have not been able to trace it on their listings but that is not unusual as a lot of brands were short lived. (Hills did a "Golden Return" brand in early 20s) In 1899 Salmon & Gluckstein had 120 wholesale/retail shops and were taken over by ITC in 1901/02 to prevent the American Tobacco Co buying them up.
Catalogues from this company were nicely illustrated with colour plates of some of their products and are very desirable as are the tins and packets.

Thanks Bacco.
I just found this picture. A common theme it seems.
