Tempted but not British and too many add ons, shipping, insurance, import duty, VAT, and the customs processing/handling charge from the shipping Co. |

I think it was a good price for the buyer, even with the add ons. |

I spend a lot of time trolling through ebay pages from around the world, a thing that I know a lot of people don't bother doing. I spotted the Sunlight sign just after it was listed, I thought there was a good chance not many would have seen it, Griffon took care of the rest. |

With all due respect Trixon your dreaming. I can tell you for a fact that most of the big collectors that I know don't even look at Ebay, or if they do, it's once in a while. When I tell them the amount of time I spend searching ebay pages, also searching a huge amount of auction houses around the world, they think I'm crazy. But I can tell you that it does pay off big time on plenty of occasions. Griffon obviously had no intentions of bidding on the sign, otherwise you wouldn't put it up on the number 1 enamel sign collectors site in the world. Sour grapes?? Maybe I'm over it now Gordo |

Good morning Fleece, My apologies if I scuppered your plans to bid on the Sunlight. That was never my intention to you or anyone else. It was merely to show others on the forum what I considered to be a truly great sign, and one that I personally have not seen before. Whether I had posted it or not, I think the final selling price would still have been high for the simple reason the quality always sells, and this was a quality enamel.

Personally I have refrained from posting here about live auctions for exactly the reason fleece points out. Why not wait a few days till the auction ends.
Unless someone is having a laugh of course, like the famous Cadbury tin. |

Also, this seems pretty cheap to me (not an enamel collector) for what it is, compared to some of the other stuff you guys post about that goes for multi-thousands. |
