Does anyone know a good meathod of removing silicon caulking from a chip in a sign.  Stuff is retardedly hard to get off at the adhesion level. What people try for filing chip I'll never figure out.

Petrol or cellulose thinners should certainly soften it up, or ABS / solvent weld pipe cleaner, which is of similar constitution. Kept in a locked cabinet at the checkouts at most B & Q's (To stop the glue sniffers getting hold of it)
