A good friend of mine has recently been down to Bristol, and while there visited the Oakham Treasures Museum. He sent me some photos of some of the wonderful enamels they have.

I sure many of you on the forum will know of this museum, but for those that don’t I thought I’d share a few of the photos.

Many thanks for putting the photos up. I visited some years ago but you forget about how good that collection is. Well worth another visit.

I agree Pete...the collection is amazing...tons of mega advertising crammed in absolutely everywhere...enamels..card ads..tin signs..figures ..cabinets etc...every square inch filled with serious stuff..good to see plenty of "old friends" on the walls too !..often wonder where it all eventually ends up,changing hands so many times..

Those Sunlight Soap signs with the man looking at the poster used to be mounted on carts. I've got a photograph of one somewhere; I'd upload it here if I could but I can't.
