It was really nice to see this again, it was last seen in the1987 Relic Auction - or one just like it , sold for £190.

Interestingly in the same sale, a British Dominions Racing Insurance car sign went for £230. Komo paste £220 and a UK teas with the 3 girls £70 all in great condition.

The thing I miss most about those great Relic Auctions, has to be the amazing Gin Palace mirrors, which were making big money then. Fortunately I photographed some of them as the catalogues were always just b&w photocopies.

Advertising Mirrors haven't fared well in terms of value over the years which is strange when you think of what rare survivors they are.

I have been trying to get a database of photos of mirrors together recently- if anyone has any good examples, please let me know.

Richard
