Apologies if I go off form but I'm completely new to this and this is my first post!
I have an enamel sign that I found about fifteen years ago, holding up the bottom of a neighbour's garden, and it's no longer tolerated by 'er indoors; cluttering up the shed.
I want it to go to a good home where someone will appreciate it. I'd given it to a local pub but the landlord couldn't find anywhere to put it so kept it in his cellar for several years. I've taken it back and need to pass it on but would like to know a little more about it first, like probable age, commonality, etc.
It's a Wills's Star Cigarettes sign, 13 inches wide and 8-foot long!
I've mounted it on two wooden batons because otherwise it would bend too much when being moved and could snap in two. I estimate it would cost around £50-60 to post it within the UK but if there's anyone interested in Central Scotland, I'd be willing to deliver it myself, within reason.
Can any of you enlighten me as to its background and can you, or someone you know, handle this monster?
Stephen
