I've seen lots of fantastic signs being shown on this website, but are you willing to show those you got wrong or the one you feel might lower your status as a top picker. Here is mine - although easier for me as I don't hold any status on this forum. I know at least 4 people will know about this: Steve B, Neil (Signseeker), Ross (Lummox) and Marcus (TT), all of whom were willing to get my money back from the 'dealer' who sold it to me (I think it was 2015). But I refused their kind offer, because I wanted to keep it as a reminder of A: Be careful who to trust; B: Don't let desire muddy your judgement and C: Get a second opinion if you can.

Great gloss, Original, My favourite subject matter (Navy, not fags lol) and No restoration. However, completely wrong! But it stays in my collection.

Keith knew it was real, Spence , he just didn't realise at the time he'd only bought 25 per cent of it !

Hi Planesman, that's a great philosophy to have, and one we should all follow. I think we have all been stung/caught out at some point in our collecting. I know I have and very recently as well, although not with an enamel.
I was offered a couple of WW2 medals, one of which i was particularly keen to acquire. Sadly it turned out to be a very good copy! Like you, I will keep it just to remind myself not to be so hasty in future.

Marcus, I’m still laughing at your comment - wiping the tears away as I’m typing. Thanks Griffon, this thread might end up being quite cathartic lol. Spence, Marcus sums it up quite well - it would be brill as a stand-alone Players sign, but as you quite correctly spotted, it’s missing the textual part of the sign.

Me too, and I knew what they were.
