Great tin that Maynard's Banjo. I have got it but not in that condition. I love toffee tins like that. Here's a pic of the old Maynard's sweet factory on Vale Rd, Harringay c1906, which used Hertfordshire spring water. The old boy, Charles Maynard, who founded the business on Stamford Hill in 1880 refused to make wine gums at first as he was a strict teetotal Methodist. He changed his mind in 1909 after his son convinced him that they did not contain alcohol!
