This is coming up for auction, on the 22 August at RoseBurys London. To me it looks like the lettering, plus the hands have been touched in?? Am I the only one who thinks this??? |

Looks like a lot of restoration on that one, mostly looks like on the letters. Pretty amateur, almost looks like Hinks did a number on it in his spare time.? |

Yeah, upon closer look, it appears to be one of those dirty Indian's re-pops https://auctions.roseberys.co.uk/m/lot-details/index/catalog/519/lot/159641?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F519%3Fpage%3D3 |

The apostrophe seems to have moved in 'Bond's' |

If you are thinking of bidding on this sign, ask the auctioneer for further images I got some out of interest , lettering looks like a total repaint close up .................and Mick could be right !! looking at the back it might be Indian . The falkirk etc is possibly painted on !!
Cheers lummox |

Steer clear of this one fellas, I've seen the list of picture's now, and it' is 100% repo. A bad one at that! |

It looks wrong to me. Versions were made by Patent Enamel, Falkirk Iron, & Willing with the comma in different places (Bonds' and Bond's). BUT I have never seen one with only 4 screw holes. All have 6, with 2 in the middle of the vertical sides. I'd want to question the dimensions as to me it looks smaller than it should. It should be 12" x 18". And of course, I'd want to see the back.
Here are a couple of the earliest ones by Patent Enamel. |

Correction. Wrong photo! Only the sign on the right is by Patent Enamel. The other is probably Falkirk (but edge is restored and name no longer visible). The artwork on the early Patent versions is finer and much superior in my view |
