thanks trixon telstar , they must have kept the old labels as looking online the company moved from the aldersgate address in the late 1800s (paper label on back), by 1909 they would have been at Gillespie Road, have you come across a label like this before im guessing they would have worn off most signs ? |

No . First time I have seen an original label on a Stephens sign . And that's after 30 + years collecting . |

thanks trixon, i guess that makes it quite unique and a nice addition to the sign , I guess the sign must have always been indoors as the paper label is in tact and that makes sense as the sign itself is in very good condition too. |

Great sign,,super condition👍..i find the info on the paper label really interesting..Never seen another..passed for appearance,,gt wording on how Not to damage the sign..Brill..thanks for showing |

Any one know what N.B- would stand for,,plus could some one fill in last sentence plz..is it this plate must not be thrown away? |

Nb is abbreviation from Latin Nota Bene meaning take notice or note well. Looks like the last sentence says This plate must not be thrown down. |

I think the term "thrown down " in this instance , refers either to when it was being transported on a vehicle or prior to it's fixing to a wall. Or both .Just a convoluted way of saying "take care ". |
