I had these some years ago. All out of a local shop and never been up. Still had the lead plugs where the screwholes were. The bottom left one had 2 chips. Unusual colour too. Had to sell late 90s early 2000s when I was rat skint. Also sold a mega Carrs tin sign. If only I had my time over again. I could have managed without food!

Seen brown portrait ones too,

Great pic, hope you made the money work for you and not spend it in the pub!

Cheers

Green ones were certainly used in England. I had one green one off the front of a sweet shop in Sheffield, and one from a grocers in Essex!

Pete, they went to Dave Huxtable. At least 10 years ago. Dave's in Virginia now so I guess they've been through several hands.
And no Al, I didn't invest the money wisely it was just to get by. I got made redundant back then, went back to the firm on a freelance basis, they went bankrupt owing me £2800. Which left me in the shite, which meant most of my collection went including the signs :(

Hi Jez

That's the downside of  being a collector - we all carry a mental list of signs we should never have sold, in my case like you, its quite a long list. Similarly, we all carry a list of signs we should have bought but didn't. The great thing is we haven't seen everything yet and who knows what might turn up next week.

Best Regards Richard
