Hello again.
I've had varying opinions as to whether this enamel I bought from Argentina is kosher or not.
I'm not really experienced enough to know either way, but I will appreciate everyone's views, for better or for worse!
The holes are near the outer edge of the sign, and there is enamel on the inside of them, so not freshly drilled.
Regards.

IM NO EXSPERT ON THESE MATE BUT IF YOU WANT MY OPINION AND FOR WHAT ITS WORTH I THINK ITS WRONG..THE SHADING ON THE GRASS DONT LOOK RIGHT UNDER THE BULL,THE ENAMEL LOOKS THIN WHERE ITS CHIPPED AND THE BACKS GOT NO DRIPS OF ANY SORT....LIKE I SAY,THIS IS JUST MY OPINION..HOPE THIS HELPS.. |

Hi Dunc
Sorry , But I agree with Banjo. Just not enough detail and the backs just wrong.

definetly a repro in my opinion.this sign has to thin enamel and the original early sign would not have this type of back and be rusting like this.the steel is to poor thin quality--David |

Yes is a copy, the quality just isn’t there for a genuine. On the subject of copies, has anyone spotted the Robins starch on eBay? 140434174312

Hi Griffon,
I had spotted that too! But I have dealt with the seller before, and he is an absolutely genuine, decent seller and I feel this is a genuine error on his part, with no deliberate intention to misrepresent. |

I would say it is a repro from the 1970s,in it`s 1970s modern frame.
cheers,
Mike. |

Thanks for the feedback guys - we all live and learn, and it wasn't a particularly expensive 'mistake'. Does this Bovril sign exist as an original piece, and if so, does anyone have a picture of the back (with swirls, etc)? |

I think all this Argentine sellers stuff is pretty modern. The Bovril seems to get a regular airing on the internet. Also the Liptons Tea fingerplates. |

Sign seeker, you think he's genuine?? He sure seems to list a lot of repro signs, maybe he's just good at playing dumb.
