John Player's of Nottingham were one of the biggest tobacco manufacture's in the UK. This "Drumhead" brand was introduced around 1910 and was withdrawn in 1941. This showcard depicts the Queens Own Lancers led by the drummers, parading through the cobbled streets to the delight of the public and creating a Carnival type atmosphere. The band-leader with the mace reminds me of "Harry Seacombe" playing the part of Mr Bumble in the film "Oliver".  (MORE!!! MORE!!!!!!)

Anyway, although it has a couple of scratches, I think it is a nice showcard of about 1910/12 and size 24" X 20".
