A bit of information regarding the company Cooper & Co. Established in 1871 - first in Glasgow by Thomas Bishop - It was a groceries shop and expanded into various goods to become a big local retailer in Glasgow. Liverpool branch opened in Church St in 1895 and closed in 1972 and at the outbreak of the 2nd World War, they employed 1,100 people in 20 departments. It was known as the Fortnum & Mason of the North and specialised in tea & coffee, exotic fruits, fine wines with own brands of furniture polish, butter, dairy cream. They even employed page boys to carry customers shopping to their cars. The first floor of the building was occupied by a spacious cafe with seating for 900 and waitress service. There is no evidence that they manufactured tobacco so may have contacted that out to a tobacco manufacturer, such as Ogden's in Liver pool. Have posted a picture of the store.
